Single Journey Tours: Find Love through Thailand’s Matchmaking Initiative

December 31, 2019 — The World Health Organization received notification that a number of cases of pneumonia were of an unknown cause in Wuhan City, China.

January 7, 2020 — Chinese authorities identified a novel coronavirus and it was temporarily called “2019-nCoV.”

March 11, 2020 — The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 as a pandemic.

That’s the day everything changed.

The world has continued to suffer since the beginning of the pandemic. A lot of companies, learning institutions, and private establishments decided to permanently shut their businesses, which in turn caused higher unemployment rates all around the world.

Hospitals are the only places to go.

Tourism, as one of the affected industries, needs to recalibrate its ways to ensure sustainability because the world’s economy has faced its greatest struggle.

Thailand, alongside New Zealand, has exemplified resilience and solidarity to curb the infections and prevented a second wave from happening.

Its overall response has led to resumptions of full economic activity.

With the country’s success story of preventing the spread of COVID-19, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, in coordination with Thai Smile Airways and Tinder, launched “Single Journey” tours within the country.

This tourism initiative was specifically created for single travelers. However, it was primarily intended for local travelers to encourage domestic travel.

Then again, Thailand didn’t close its borders to foreign tourists who wished to meet beautiful Thai women during the tours, as long as they were willing to quarantine for two weeks and pay for a visa application.

During a press release, TAT Deputy Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said,

“Tourism connects people, and some people might end up being lifetime partners. Tourists can also help support tourism and the economy during tough times.”

Tour Routes of “Single Journey”

TAT prepared a tour itinerary to help single people find true love.

The nine routes of the program’s three pilot tours include:

  • Mae Hong Son — Chiang Mai

This place is home to sublime views of mountains, waterfalls, and rice fields. Locals and tourists can also experience an epic road trip witnessing the outstanding natural beauty of Northern Thailand.

  • Chiang Rai — Lopburi

Chiang Rai is best known for its ancient temples. This place also offers excellent trails for hiking and trekking, as well as encounters with Thai ethnic groups.

Lopburi is best known for its cultural heritage sites and natural attractions like the sunflower farm. This place is also home to a lot of monkeys.

  • Saraburi — Si Sa Ket

Saraburi is located in Central Thailand and is known for its stunning waterfalls and local community that works for flower and fruit farms turned into tourist attractions.

  • Bangkok

This is the country’s capital city. It offers a variety of experiences that should never be missed, as well as tourist spots that showcase the country’s arts, history, culture, nightlife, and shopping.

These places are considered to be some of the most romantic, especially when it comes to dating in Thailand.

They can also help couples find genuine love and they will definitely melt the hearts of those who believe that single life is better.

Tinder’s Role in Thailand’s Matchmaking Trip

The Tourism Authority of Thailand believes that one of the reasons why single men and women all over the world choose to travel is because they want to meet people with the same interests.

So their way to achieve this is to tap an organization that expands people’s social circles — Tinder.

During the pandemic, dating seemed impossible, considering the lockdowns and health protocols.

Tinder, one of the best free online dating sites, opened more doors for both Thai men and westerners to travel around Thailand with the hope of meeting their lifetime partners. It helps the Thai Tourism Authority provide tour packages for the purpose of boosting matchmaking in Thailand.

Love in the Time of COVID-19

The pandemic has changed most of the living conditions of people. But if there is one single thing that has not been affected regardless of how deadly the virus is — it’s LOVE.

Thailand’s matchmaking program is living-proof that this health crisis will not stop men from searching for a Thai woman whom they can say is a perfect match.

So if you are currently in Thailand and interested in living with a Thai woman, equip yourself with the best approaches to win one’s heart.
